Our program cultivates students' natural abilities by offering small classes, individualized learning options, frequent advisement meetings, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary teaching. We are looking for one part-time AP Computer Science teacher to teach two for-credit AP Computer Science courses, AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A, to our high school students during our fall and spring semesters. This teacher will be positive, confident, and energetic, making a lasting contribution. Expected qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience include: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field 3 Years of Teaching Experience (as an HS School Teacher or Teacher Aide) Strong content knowledge in the AP Computer Science Course and standard requirements Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills Applicants should be comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and professional levels, ranging from parents to school administrators. Experience working with high school students Teaching credential preferred Applicants should be flexible, resourceful, and able to communicate well with students and families. Duties and Responsibilities Create teaching strategies to engage students and encourage class participation. Present lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of AP Computer Science concepts Assign homework and give and grade tests. Assess student performance to determine if they are learning at an acceptable level and pace. Communicate student concerns or issues to administrators.
