Under general supervision, the Software Engineer is responsible for the full development life cycle of computer systems and applications to support the educational mission. This includes the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of academic and administrative information systems, such as student data warehousing, data visualization, and interdepartmental support tools, and applications. The position ensures data integrity, facilitates system integrations, and provides technical documentation and end-user support to streamline school district and county- wide operations.
Requirements / Qualifications
Applicant Job Requirements: Associate's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field; Two years of increasingly responsible professional experience in systems analysis, software development, and database management; or Any combination of education and experience equivalent to 4 years of experience in related field.
ldeal Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Computer Science, Management information Systems (MlS), or a closely related field is typically required. Experience: Approximately two to four years of increasingly responsible experience in systems analysis, application development, and database management, preferably within a K-'12 educational setting. Technical Proficiency: Strong command of one or more high-level programming languages (e.9., C#, .NET, JavaScript, SOL) and experience with web-based interactive technologies and relational database management systems. Data Expertise: Demonstrated experience in developing ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Load) processes, building data warehouses, and creating complex data visualizations for non-technical stakeholders. Soft Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal direction, manage multiple project timelines, and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to a diverse group of users.
