Luther Burbank School District is a unique, one-school Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade district located in the heart of midtown San Jose, California. The district proudly serves approximately 400 students from the local neighborhood and surrounding communities in a nurturing, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. We are seeking responsible, dependable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Expanded Learning Program team. Under the direction of the Expanded Learning Program Coordinator, Expanded Learning Program Assistants supervise and engage school-aged students in a variety of academic, enrichment, and recreational activities before school, after school, and during intersession programs. This position plays an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and positive environment that supports students' academic achievement, social-emotional development, and overall well-being. Responsibilities include supervising students, assisting with homework and academic enrichment, planning and leading engaging activities, promoting positive behavior, communicating effectively with parents and school staff, and maintaining clean, organized, and safe program spaces.
Requirements / Qualifications
Letter of Introduction Resume 1 Letter of Recommendation (within the last 24 months). Proof of HS Graduation ESSA Requirement: Candidates for this position must meet the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Applicants must possess one of the following: - An associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or - Completion of at least 48 semester units (or equivalent quarter units) at an accredited college or university; or - A passing score on a state- or locally approved paraprofessional assessment.
