Job Summary
Job Summary
The Workforce Student Support Specialist assists with student support in the instructional program, recruitment and admissions, retention, and with community partners. This position requires highly-effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written) in order to develop, maintain, and effectively interact with partner organizations, education partners, students, and staff members.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience working with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs, or social-service programs preferred. Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or equivalent work experience in admissions, business, communication, community outreach, customer service, marketing, public relations, recruiting, and/or sales. Completion of high school or its equivalent, with additional education or training in business, office management, marketing, or a related discipline. Ability to travel to in-person meetings, events, or community sites as required. Completion of state and federal background checks (LiveScan) as required for working with students, in accordance with Education Code Section 44237. Employment is contingent upon clearance confirmation by Human Resources. A recent TB test result, obtained within the last 60 days, with subsequent tests every four years, as per Education Code Section 49406.
