Job Summary
Provide academic support to elementary school students, working one-on-one and with small groups. Assist the classroom teacher with both academic and behavioral needs. This position begins at 7:40 AM to 2:45 PM, with the potential for additional hours on school breaks and summers.

Instructional Assistants provide direct instruction of student under direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Assistants will conduct instructional activities assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts. Some recess supervision will be required.

Required Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent, and
2. Two years of college (48 units), or
or pass local assessment of knowledge and skills (within first year of employment).
3. All chosen applicants must successfully pass a background check and fingerprint clearance prior to employment.
Experience:
Background to include activities that involve students and an interest in working with school age children.
