Job Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent or designee, the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships is responsible for advancing district priorities, driving organizational alignment, and strengthening the effectiveness of the District and Superintendent’s Office. This position provides support to executive leadership and strategic oversight to ensure district-wide priorities, initiatives, governance functions, and organizational efforts are aligned, coordinated, and executed in support of district goals. The Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships acts as a strategic integrator across Cabinet, district departments, and site leadership, ensuring that Board direction and district priorities are translated into actionable and results-oriented work. This role supports the Superintendent by managing executive priorities, facilitating cross-functional alignment, and ensuring coordinated implementation of major district initiatives.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: -Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, education, communications, business administration, or a related field -Five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership, management, or executive-level support experience -Experience coordinating complex projects or initiatives across multiple departments -Experience supporting senior leadership or executive-level operations -Bilingual and Biliterate in Spanish Licenses and other requirements: Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License An acceptable driving record and qualification for insurability by the District’s insurance carrier Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance Evidence of TB clearance

Our District has an enrollment of 16,500 students in grades 7-12. SUHSD currently includes four middle schools, five high schools, a continuation high school, an adult school, an alternative education school, and ROP facilities.
NOTE:
New employees shall be employed at a rate no higher than that of Step C of the appropriate salary classification. If exceptional recruitment difficulties are encountered or an
individual with unusually high qualifications is being considered for employment, the Board reserves the right to approve an appointment above Step C.
