Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students in a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom; prepare instructional materials and perform a variety of clerical duties as assigned; perform specialized health care services for TK students; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance.
Requirements / Qualifications
Requirements: *Graduation from high school or GED *Must also have at minimum 48 college semester units, or passing scores on the Paraprofessional Examination through Kings County Office of Education.

As of 7/8/26, we have 3 positions available at Akers School. Each position is 5.75 hours a day.
The District will correspond with all applicants via EMAIL. PLEASE PROVIDE A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS. All positions are Monday-Friday, 180 workdays plus 9 days of sick leave, 9 days of paid vacation and 11 holidays. Working hours will vary depending on the position offered. If position is 4.00 hours or more it does qualify for California Public Employees Retirement (CalPERS). None of these positions include health and welfare benefits.
