Job Summary

Spencer Valley School is seeking a dedicated, highly organized, and collaborative Special Education Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis (4 days per week). This multifaceted role balances critical administrative oversight—specifically managing the IEP process and the SEIS platform—with direct instructional support. The ideal candidate will seamlessly bridge the gap between general education classrooms, specialized service providers, and instructional assistants to ensure every student’s unique needs are met. Key Responsibilities 1. IEP Management & Administration Meeting Coordination: Schedule, organize, and facilitate all Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, ensuring compliance with legal timelines and coordination with families and staff. SEIS Oversight: Utilize the Special Education Information System (SEIS) to input, update, track, and complete all student records, progress reports, and required documentation accurately. Provider Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for all related service providers (e.g., Speech Therapists, OTs, PTs, Psychologists), collaborating closely to gather data and coordinate services for each student. 2. Instructional Support & Direct Services Service Delivery: Provide high-quality special education services both inside the general education classroom (push-in/inclusion support) and outside the classroom (pull-out/targeted intervention) as dictated by student IEPs. Differentiated Instruction: Modify and adapt curriculum materials in partnership with classroom teachers to ensure lessons are accessible and aligned with student goals. 3. Collaboration & Team Leadership Teacher Partnership: Work collaboratively with general education classroom teachers to co-plan, share strategies, and monitor student progress. Instructional Assistant Guidance: Provide daily direction, training, and ongoing support to Instructional Assistants (IAs) to ensure accommodations are implemented effectively
