Job Summary
Under direction of the Central Kitchen Manager, the Catering & School Site Assistant supports the preparation, setup, service, and cleanup of catering functions and special events for School Day Cafe. Safely drives and operates a box truck with liftgate for meal transport between the Central Kitchen and school sites. The position also provides coverage and support at school site cafeterias as needed, performing food preparation, serving, and cashier duties. This role ensures that catering and meal service operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and professionally while maintaining the high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service that align with School Day Cate's mission to provide nutritious, appealing meals to students and guests.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: • The position requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Microsoft or related industry certifications are highly desirable. • Additional coursework in culinary arts, food service, or hospitality management preferred. Experience: • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in large-scale food service, catering, or event operations, including one (1) year in a lead or customer-facing capacity. • Additional education may substitute for some experience. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: • Requires valid California's Driver's License and Insurability.
