Position Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the School Director, the Site Support/Supervisor provides instructional leadership, operational support, and student services coordination for the Manila Campus. The Site Support/Supervisor serves as a collaborative leader who supports staff, students, and families while ensuring a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in special education, student behavior support, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This position requires excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation of the Manila Campus under the direction of the School Director.
- Serve as the administrative designee for IEP meetings when designated by the School Director and in accordance with legal requirements.
- Provide leadership in supporting students with Tier II and Tier III behavioral needs through restorative practices, positive behavior interventions, and MTSS.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), accommodations, and other student support plans.
- Respond to student behavior concerns and partner with families to develop proactive solutions.
- Keep the School Director informed of significant behavior incidents, safety concerns, incident reports, and situations that may require suspension or additional administrative action.
- Coordinate and facilitate Student Success Team (SST) meetings and participate in special education meetings as assigned.
- Assist with student enrollment, campus tours, and family outreach.
- Monitor daily attendance and support attendance intervention efforts.
- Coordinate substitute coverage during staff absences.
- Assist with planning and facilitating staff meetings in collaboration with the School Director.
- Monitor staff compliance with required trainings, including Vector Training and other mandated certifications.
- Coordinate campus events, emergency drills, and school activities.
- Assist with ordering instructional materials and operational supplies while remaining within established budget allocations.
- Support assessment coordination, including CAASPP, Physical Fitness Testing (PFT), and interim assessments.
- Supervise students and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive campus culture.
- Support the supervision, coaching, and development of Manila staff in collaboration with the School Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the School Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Valid California teaching credential required.
- Minimum of three years of successful experience in an educational setting.
- Experience working with students with disabilities and implementing special education supports.
- Experience supporting student behavior through MTSS, PBIS, restorative practices, or other evidence-based behavioral frameworks.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and outside agencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of:
- California Special Education law and IEP procedures.
- Student behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.
- Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
- Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- California Education Code and charter school operations.
- Student attendance requirements and intervention practices.
- School safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Effective supervision, coaching, and team collaboration.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Student information systems and educational technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving as a member of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) team, with knowledge of special education processes, timelines, and procedural safeguards.
- Knowledge of federal and California special education laws, regulations, and legal requirements related to IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
- Experience supporting students with disabilities in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families.
- Experience in a Montessori, charter school, or Project-Based Learning environment.
- Experience with SchoolWise, SEIS, CALPADS, and Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of California assessment administration and compliance requirements.
