Job Summary
Overall Responsibilities Work cooperatively under the direction of the site administrator to support instructional activities of students. A majority of the assignment will be spent working directly with students in a capacity that meets learning and physical needs of students. Specific Responsibilities 1. Assist the teacher in planning and carrying out the activities of the instructional program while maintaining effective communication to assure that appropriate institutional goals are implemented and assessed on a regular basis. 2. Work independently with small groups of students and individuals including physical tasks to meet the needs of students with disabilities. 3. Participate in appropriate staff development activities. 4. Interpret purposes and activities of the instructional program and District Mission to students, parents, and community members. 5. Maintain records as needed for program management and legal compliance. 6. Supervise children in non-classroom settings. 7. Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
1. High school graduation or equivalent. 2. Possession of an associate’s degree or higher, or passage of a local assessment.
