An Equal Opportunity Employer JOB ANNOUNCEMENT DEFINITION/JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance & Transportation, maintains buildings, classrooms, and facilities in a clean, orderly, and secure manner. Operate and maintain a school bus to transport students safely and efficiently to assigned locations using designated routes. QUALIFICATIONS: • Graduate from high school or possession of GED required • Possession of a valid California School Bus Driver’s License • Current H6 Department of Motor Vehicles Report • Valid First Aid Certificate and knowledge • Valid Medical Exam Certificate • Complete District drug testing requirements • Knowledge of District Policies and Procedures • Methods and practices of custodial services • Operation of equipment used in general grounds maintenance. • Proper use and application of sanitation chemicals • Meet the physical requirements of the position MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES • Understand and carry out oral and written instruction • Maintains supplies and equipment • Opens and secures facilities for the purpose of ensuring facilities are operational and safe for occupancy and to minimize property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability to the district. • Performs routine grounds keeping duties as assigned • Performs routine maintenance of buildings and grounds • Prepare athletic fields as directed. • Observes/follows all applicable motor vehicle codes/laws while operating school bus. • Maintains vehicles as assigned for the purpose of ensuring safe operations of vehicles • Drives a bus over designated routes in accordance with safety regulations and state law. • Maintains good order among students on the bus • Perform related duties as assigned SALARY • Placement on the Classified Salary Schedule • 8 hours per day/260 Paid Days per year.
