The Foundation for Hispanic Education (TFHE) was established in 1981 as a product of the late Dr. B. Roberto Cruz’s vision of providing quality education and support for all underserved learners, with a focus on Latino students. With 106 committed staff members, TFHE now serves over 1,050 students from the community neighborhoods of Mayfair, Mt. Pleasant, Sylvandale, Santee, and Alum Rock in East San Jose. TFHE operates three charter high schools.

Job Summary

Job Summary

The Community School Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for the implementation, integration, alignment, and coordination of the community school strategy at the site level. The CSC is responsible for facilitating the process of transforming the school into a full-service community school. CSC works in partnership with the school administrator and the Site Based Leadership Team to assess the school community’s needs and assets; coordinates all student and family support services, and creates a learning environment in partnership with the school administration that supports student achievement and wellness. The Community School Coordinator must work to create a high-performing Community School partnership wherein students and families are supported, community members are connected, and successful outcomes emerge.
