Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: • Standards of Mathematical Practice, California Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, CA State K-12 Learning Progressions, Mathematics Framework for California Public Schools: Kindergarten Through Grade Twelve • Research-based best practices for math instruction, evidence-based instruction, educational approaches, professional development, formative assessments, and summative assessments • Differentiated instruction to meet the needs of a broad range of learners • Direct, Traditional, Integrated, and Constructivist educational theory • Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and Response to Intervention (RTI) • Targeted student populations and effective instructional practices that support their development • Nationally norm-referenced math assessments • Standards-based and competency-based math schema • District K-12 Mathematics Pathways Ability to: • Work independently and in a team setting with highest levels of professional integrity, self-discipline, conduct, responsibility, and accountability. • Communicate with the Director of Mathematics regarding math updates, vendor/ publisher contacts, scheduling, assessments, training, professional development, committees, conferences, seminars, and webinars. • Use District approved technology as a tool to support student learning in mathematics. • Effectively use oral and written communication to discuss, demonstrate, or explain approved Math Department functions. • Maintain confidentiality.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Experience: Three (3) or more years of documented successful teaching experience in math; demonstrated experience teaching math courses at the elementary, middle, or high school levels; math coaching experience; demonstrated professional development work experiences in the teaching and learning of California Common Core State Standards and the Standards for the Mathematical Practices. Education: • Holds a valid California Multiple Subject, or valid California Single Subject teaching credential and EL authorization or equivalent. • Mathematics Instruction Added Authorization credential, preferred. The salary for the position is based on the teacher’s salary schedule ($73,098 to $144,836) for 194 days of service. Up to 14 years of previous experience within the last 15 years are given for placement on the salary schedule.
BENEFITS: Fully paid Medical, Dental, Vision, and Basic Life Insurance, above and beyond the salary for the employee and eligible dependents.
As of January 1, 2025: In accordance with Education Code section 44939.5, you are required by law to provide a complete list of every school district, county office of education, charter school and/or state special school that you have previously been employed no matter the length of service. Please include any part-time and/or substitution work in addition to any full-time employment positions.
