The Rosemead School District is hiring a temporary paraprofessional to work under the supervision of Certificated Physical Education teachers and to work directly with students to implement the Physical Education Program with all four elementary sites (a different site each day). The aides will report to a set school each day of the week. The instructional aide will preferably: - Assist with equipment set-up - Maintain and control student behavior during class and individual group sessions - Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activity - Maintain inventory of sports equipment Must love the outdoors! The hours are 7:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (subject to change)

High school diploma or equivalency is required. In order to comply with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (Public Law 107-110), all paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002, must meet one of the following additional requirements: 1) completion of at least two years of study at an accredited college or university (48 semester units): or 2) obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or 3) met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrated, through a formal state or local assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing either (a) reading, writing, and mathematics, or (b) reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
