Long-Term Substitute Teacher – Middle School Science (Grades 6–8) Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time Assignment Period: Late August 2026 through November 2026, with the possibility of extending through December 2026, if needed. Position Overview Riviera Hall Lutheran School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and student-centered educator to serve as a Long-Term Substitute Middle School Science Teacher for grades 6–8. The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-based science instruction while fostering a positive classroom environment and supporting the school's Christian mission and values. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced teaching assistant who is well-versed in the science curriculum, classroom routines, and school expectations. Responsibilities Deliver daily instruction in Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science for students in grades 6–8. Teach introductory chemistry concepts as part of the middle school science curriculum. Implement the school's curriculum, lesson plans, and assessments. Maintain a structured, engaging, positive, and safe classroom environment. Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback. Communicate regularly with parents, administration, and faculty regarding student achievement and classroom expectations. Utilize educational technology to enhance instruction and student learning. Collaborate with colleagues during faculty meetings and planning sessions. Supervise students during designated school activities, including: AstroCamp (three-day overnight trip, if applicable) Middle School Dances First Trimester Honor Roll Breakfast Support and uphold the mission, values, and expectations of Riviera Hall Lutheran School.
