Job Summary

Job Summary

Daytime and evening custodians will work collaboratively to maintain the facility. While certain duties are designated for specific shifts, both custodians are expected to complete their individual task lists and support each other as a team to ensure all work is accomplished. Universal Precautions: Always treat blood and bodily fluids as infectious. Use a designated biohazard spill kit (fluid solidifier, gloves, eye protection) and a registered hospital-grade disinfectant for cleanup. Never use standard classroom mops/cloths for biohazards. (Sanitizing) Daily Cleaning : High-touch areas such as desks, doorknobs, handrails, and tables are typically sanitized as part of regular, daily cleaning routines. (Disinfecting)Targeted Germ Control : Disinfecting is generally reserved for specific situations, such as a known illness outbreak, following exposure to bodily fluids, or when health guidelines mandate a higher level of germ control. Physical Requirements: Good physical health including ability to lift 75 pounds, climb to high and difficult places and work at those places. Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walking. Repetitive motion with wrists hands and fingers. Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting and stooping. Occasional climbing and crawling. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Ability to work unsupervised. Good attendance. Ability to communicate and follow written and oral communication. Ability to demonstrate recognition of equipment malfunction. Demonstrated positive attitude towards people with whom one works, ability to work cooperatively and willingness to accept instructions and training. Works a revised schedule and substitutes for cleaning crew when necessary. Shares responsibility for holiday, extended day and weekend activities with other staff. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors. Working Conditions: Occasionally subjected to mechanical and electrical hazards, extreme temperatures and humidity. Atmospheric conditions occasionally include fumes and dust. Caution necessary to avoid harm from misuse of chemicals.
