ABOUT iQ ACADEMY, LOS ANGELES AND THE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER POSITIONS: iQ Academy, Los Angeles delivers online/virtual home based instruction to K-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. We use the K-12, inc. curriculum as the basis for instruction and you will teach via the Engageli platform. Teachers instruct students online daily both synchronously and asynchronously. The Guidance Counselor is responsible for providing support for the school's comprehensive guidance plan. The counselor advises students to manage personal conduct, helps students identify post-secondary and career goals, ensure students are properly placed in classes needed for graduation, and guides students towards making appropriate choices. The counselor works with the teachers to maintain a positive learning experience and encourage parent involvement in the student education. The Guidance Counselor works with Middle and High School students.

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full time work Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:00pm. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Full Time: Annual salary based on holding a Bachelors or Masters Degree and up to 5 years of experience in California See the IQLA Salary Schedule under "Links Related to this Job" We do participate in CalSTRS. ELIGIBILITY POOL: Our postings are eligibility pools for positions that may arise during the 2026-2027 school year, ONLY. Applications and interviews are for consideration to be placed in the eligibility pool. As our enrollment continues to grow during the year, there is no way to forecast when a position will open up, which is why there are no set number of open positions listed, nor is such information given out. Please Note: Applications and interviews are only valid for one school year. For each school year an applicant would like to be considered, a new application must be submitted. REQUIRED CREDENTIAL/CERTIFICATION: (All applicants MUST have the following at the time of applying) • Must hold a valid Pupil Personnel Service Credential in School Counseling PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT accept temporary county certificates, out-of-state, intern, expired, emergency, short-term staff permits, or credentials in the process of being obtained. As iQ Academy, Los Angeles is a public school, these are set contracted hours and you must be available/working during these hours while under contract with iQ Academy, Los Angeles. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours.
Start Date
August 2026- Immediate hires as needed throughout the 2026-2027 school year. We are an enrollment based school, we may need to hire teachers at any time throughout the year as our enrollment continues to grow.
Location
Our Administrative Office is located in Simi Valley, CA, but most of our teachers work from home.
