Long-Term Substitute Teacher – 5th Grade Employer: Riviera Hall Lutheran School Location: Redondo Beach, California Position: Long-Term Substitute Teacher – 5th Grade Assignment Dates: August 2026 – November 2026 Employment Type: Temporary / Full-Time Riviera Hall Lutheran School is a faith-based TK–8 school located in Redondo Beach, California. Riviera Hall Lutheran School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher to lead our 5th-grade classroom from August through November. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction, maintain classroom continuity, and foster a positive learning environment while the regular classroom teacher is on leave. Position begins with week of faculty meetings beginning Monday, August 31st. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver daily instruction in all core academic subjects, including Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Implement lesson plans, curriculum, and assessments aligned with school expectations. Create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. Maintain classroom management and promote positive student behavior. Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school administration. Monitor student progress and provide feedback as needed. Participate in faculty meetings, professional collaboration, and school activities as appropriate. Uphold the mission and core values of Riviera Hall Lutheran School. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Previous elementary experience, preferably at the upper elementary level or middle school. Strong classroom management and instructional skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Strong technology skills and the ability to effect
