Job Summary

The Coordinator of Educational Services provides leadership and support for districtwide curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, and program implementation. Under the direction of Educational Services leadership, this position collaborates with school and district administrators, teachers, and community stakeholders to improve student achievement, support instructional excellence, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and oversee the implementation and evaluation of educational programs. The Coordinator serves as a resource to schools and departments in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs designed to meet the needs of all students.

COORDINATOR OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the designated manager, plans, implements, and evaluates all aspects of Programs for K-12 programs including, curriculum development, and professional development; oversees appropriate district assessments; conducts program evaluations and makes recommendations for modifications based upon data analysis.

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services or designated manager

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Provides guidance and support to site administrators as it relates to area of expertise (including leadership at principals’ meetings).
•Supervises and evaluates assigned personnel.
•Facilitates and leads teacher teams working to address areas for which the coordinator is responsible.
•Responsible for curriculum development as it relates to K-12 programs.
•Coordinates curriculum development and professional development as it relates to meeting the unique needs for student subgroups in the areas for which the coordinator is responsible.
•Oversees implementation of relevant intervention programs that may be adopted.
•Oversees support program for coaches, teachers on special assignment, support staff and others.
•Arranges for and in some cases provides district-wide professional development related to areas for which the coordinator is responsible.
•Conducts program evaluation as needed.
•Analyzes state and district assessment results and makes recommendations to the district regarding program modifications based upon data.
•Develops and oversees training and implementation of district assessments.
•Coordinates development of curriculum as it relates to areas for which the coordinator is responsible.
•Oversees teacher and parent committees in the areas for which the coordinator is responsible.
•Coordinates selection and ordering of instructional materials for areas for which the coordinator is responsible.
•Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal legislation mandates and policies.
•Plans, implements and coordinates curriculum development, professional development and assessments as it relates to programs and grants.
•Works with manager to ensure that deadlines and requirements are met in a timely manner.
•Provides presentation to the Board of Education related to programs and progress of our students as appropriate.
•Attends county and state meetings as required.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

•Familiarity with current curriculum and professional development concepts.
•The elements of instruction.
•Principles of organization and management of personnel and budgets.
Ability to:

•Write and speak effectively.
•Work cooperatively and effectively with all segments of the educational community and the general public.
•Lead and work collaboratively with K-12 teachers and administrators with varying degrees of expertise and experience.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•Administrative credential.
•Three years administrative experience.
•CLAD or equivalent authorization.
•Preferred M.A. in education or specific content area.


Physical Effort/Work Environment

Light to moderate physical effort; frequent standing or walking; rapid paced work; moderate to high levels of stress.

Evaluation:

Performance of this position will be evaluated by designated manager in accordance with provisions of Board policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.


SALARY:

Schedule: WCCAA
Salary Range: 105A
Work year/days: Twelve months / 225 workdays
