Requirements / Qualifications

The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking a highly qualified Temporary TK-5th Grade Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) at Foster Elementary School (Focus Area: Intervention). The TOSA will be under the direction of the school principal or designee and will be responsible for planning, developing, assessing, and conducting academic intervention with students to support mitigation of learning loss. This vacancy is open to internal and external applicants. If the selected candidate is not currently in probationary or permanent status as a Baldwin Park USD certificated employee, the candidate will receive a temporary contract for the 2026-2027 school year. Additionally, internal candidates may receive priority for interviews REQUIREMENTS • Three years of successful teaching experience in grades TK-5th grade • California.teaching credential to the specific assignment such as any of the following below: • Multiple Subject • Single Subject, or • Education Specialist Credential and Title V Regulations • English Learner Authorization PREFERENCES • Teacher leadership experience • Knowledge of and experience with instructional systems and supports such as Response to Intervention, English Language Development, and Professional Learning Communities • Experience in implementing site-based programs • Knowledge and/or training and experience in working with English Learners • Effective organization and time management • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and learning theories • Strong oral communication skills; ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, parents, or members of other organizations • Experience with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and Response to Intervention (RTI) • Bilingual (Spanish) • Experience as an elementary teacher
