Job Summary
Provides short-term instructional and behavioral support for students in special education , in our military school, juvenile detention facilities, and behavior intervention classrooms. Follows lesson plans, IEPs, and behavior strategies to maintain a safe, consistent, and supportive environment. Assists students with academic tasks, behavior management, and social-emotional development. Ideal candidates are patient, adaptable, and skilled in working with diverse and high-need student populations.

One of the following are required to apply: Valid Substitute Teaching permit, or a valid California Teaching credential AND Countywide Substitute Fingerprint Clearance. Teacher of the Severely Handicapped serves students with the most severe handicapping conditions. Some students need total care while others function somewhat independently. All services are provided pursuant to an individual educational plan developed for the children.
