Job Summary
The Moorpark Unified School District will accept applications for the following classified position until filled for the 2026 - 2027 school year. Under general supervision, to assist students in the use of materials, books and videos in a College and Career Information Center. Assist underrepresented populations in the work force with academic and career guidance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Obtains, evaluates, organizes and maintains resource materials for the College and Career Information Center. • Assists students in the use and functions of the College and Career Information Center. • Provides assistance to under-represented populations in the work force. • Obtains, compiles, organizes and maintains catalogs and applications for colleges and universities. • Assists students in completing applications to colleges and universities and for financial aid and/or scholarships. • Compiles, administers and scores a variety of aptitude and interest tests that relate to students’ career decisions. • Develops and performs follow-up studies and surveys to determine the effectiveness of the Career Information Center programs. • Schedules time, date, and place for workshops with industry, business, institutions and public agencies. • Assists in contacting prospective career center speakers in various vocational fields. • Refers students to other resources as needed. OTHER DUTIES: Performs related duties similar to the above in scope and function as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Two years of general clerical experience. - Training and experience in administering various occupational tests and surveys. - Successful experience tutoring and supervising students at the secondary level. - Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent combination of experience and education. - Courses in business correspondence and modern office methods are desirable.
