Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Transportation, perform journey-level mechanical work in the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of school buses and a variety of large and small diesel, gas and alternative-powered District vehicles and equipment.
Requirements / Qualifications
Completion of an apprenticeship program in automotive repair and two years of journey-level experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel and alternative-powered vehicles and equipment.
In addition to the documents below, information for three Professional References must be provided. Professional References MUST be people who worked as your Supervisor, Manager, or HR Personnel. Professional References CANNOT be friends, family, family friends, or coworkers. The following Licenses and requirements are preferred, but will train during probation as necessary: • Valid unrestricted California Class A or B driver’s license with appropriate passenger, school bus, and air brake endorsements (automatic transmission restriction is allowed). • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an EMSA authorized program. • Valid School Bus Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol.
