NOTE: THIS JOB POSTING CLOSES JULY 3, 2026 Wilmar Union Elementary School District is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will be hired for a teaching position in Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, or Grade 3, depending on district needs and the candidate's qualifications and experience. Wilson School is a small, rural TK–6 school serving approximately 270 students in Petaluma, California. Our district is committed to a Culture of Care, Competence, and Excellence and believes that strong relationships provide the foundation for high levels of student learning. We are seeking educators who are passionate about developing independent learners, fostering student ownership of learning, and creating engaging classroom environments where all students can thrive. The ideal candidate will utilize Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure access and success for all learners and embrace instructional practices that promote critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and student discourse. Candidates should be committed to creating classrooms where students are challenged to think deeply, take academic risks, and develop confidence as learners. Experience implementing or a willingness to learn Creating Thinking Classrooms practices is highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong instructional practices aligned with California standards Effective classroom management and positive behavior supports A commitment to developing independent and self-directed learners The ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs Strong collaboration with colleagues, families, and support staff A growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement Assignment: The selected candidate will be assigned to Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, or Grade 3 based on district needs.
