Job Summary
The Dean of Students serves as a pivotal school leader responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining systems, processes, and policies that ensure a safe, learning-centered, and positive school culture and climate. Working under the direct supervision of the school Principal, the Dean of students collaborates with staff, students, and families to foster an environment built on high expectations, accountability, and student agency. Additionally, the Dean provides essential instructional leadership, manages student disciplinary systems, MTSS tiered interventions, and oversees campus safety and student activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
LOCATION: Village Elementary School 600 Sixth Street, Coronado, CA 92118 HOURS: 40 hours per week EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience at the elementary level. Five years experience within a related administrative or counseling position. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred. LICENSES, CREDENTIALS, & CERTIFICATIONS: - Valid State Teaching Credential - Valid Administrative Services or Counseling Credential (or immediate eligibility) - CPR and First Aid Certification PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES: - Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English. - Prior experience coaching instructional staff . - Background in creating intrinsically motivating environments for students.
