Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Site Administrator (or designee), the Elementary School Counselor is responsible for providing a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program aligned with the California Education Code and National Standards for School Counseling Programs. The Counselor addresses the academic, socio-emotional, and character development needs of all students through individual counseling, small group intervention, and classroom guidance lessons.
Requirements / Qualifications
Equivalent to the completion of an earned Master of Arts or higher degree in school counseling, counseling psychology, guidance, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Possession of a valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential authorizing service as a School Counselor (Required per California Education Code § 49600). Two (2) years of successful public elementary school counseling experience is preferred. • ATTACH A STATEMENT (500 word maximum) which includes the following: 1. Your major and minor qualifications for the position you seek. 2. The primary duties of that position as you perceive them. 3. Your educational philosophy. 4.
