Job Summary

Under general direction of the Deputy or Associate Superintendent of Educational Services, is responsible for developing, supporting and monitoring the delivery of Special Education programs, related services and transportation services for students from the age of birth to 22 years.

Requirements / Qualifications

Distinguishing Characteristics: This classification requires administrative expertise and demonstrated knowledge of Special Education and related services, specialized and common core curriculum and instructional strategies, identification, referral and assessment procedures, and all administrative/legal aspects of special education. This is a Cabinet-level administrative position. Education: Valid California Administrative Services credential required. Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible management experience, preferably in a public school district. Desired Qualifications: Master's degree in Special Education or related field preferred.
