LOCATION: LA County High School for the Arts (on the campus of Cal State University, Los Angeles) State University Drive Building #20, N Warwick Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90032 THE POSITION: The Los Angeles County Office of Education seeks an individual to teach Social Science to the Los Angeles County School for the Arts (LACHSA) students. Teachers should have knowledge of the Common Core State Standards. LACHSA requires teachers that are strong in their academic field and who have the flexibility to work with students who have performance schedules. LACHSA teachers think creatively, problem-solve, work in collaborative teams, and effectively use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies. Teachers are also expected to provide support in school activities such as performances and proms. Students are taught presentation and communication skills, participate in student government, and receive specialized instruction in their area of expertise (e.g., vocal music, photography, drama).

Requirements / Qualifications

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: Must possess a valid Single Social Science Teaching Credential with a full English Learner Authorization (CLAD/BCLAD, or equivalent). (Please attach credential with detailed authorization and document number from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing website to the application.)
