Under the supervision of the Principal, the Instructional Aide supports classroom instruction, student learning, and the overall educational environment at Irvine International Academy. This role includes assisting certificated teachers with lesson preparation, small-group instruction, and classroom management, as well as fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment aligned with the school's mission and Mandarin-immersion focus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this classification - Assist instructional personnel with the development, preparation, and presentation of learning materials and activities. - Reinforce instruction to individual students or small groups as directed by the teacher, ensuring students’ understanding of classroom lessons and activities. - Monitor and oversee student behavior in the classroom, playground, lunch areas, and other school settings, maintaining a safe and respectful environment. - Perform clerical duties such as preparing instructional materials, maintaining student records, grading assignments, and filing documentation. - Support teachers in implementing lesson plans, managing classroom schedules, and maintaining a clean and organized learning environment. - Assist students with completing assignments, answering questions, and providing emotional support, encouragement, and general guidance. - Provide additional supervision during snack and meal periods, outdoor activities, and transitions between classes. - Maintain confidentiality of personal information regarding students, families, and staff. - Administer and score assessments as assigned and assist with mandated reporting requirements. - Operate classroom and office equipment, including computers, printers, and audio-visual devices. - Attend meetings, workshops, and in-service training as required
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: Proof of passage of the CBEST, or proof of an AA degree or higher from an accredited institution in the US. Experience: Any combination of experience working with children in an educational or organized setting.
