This position is for 2026-27 school year with the start date of August 10th, 2026 Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Job Description: Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Services, the Special Education Aide is responsible for the supervision and supportive management of a classroom in accordance with the philosophy, goals and curricular plan of Irvine International Academy. The Special Education aide is may provide a variety of instructional and behavior support to individual students one-on-one, is responsible for implementing activities on a daily basis including evaluating the effectiveness of activities, helping to create and maintain a classroom culture of health and safety, both physical and emotional, maintaining regular communication with supervisors and contributing to the overall effective operation of the child development program in a school/educational setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist instructional personnel with the development, preparation, and presentation of learning materials and exercises, reinforcing instruction to individual students or small groups. - Provide academic and behavioral support to students, including one-on-one tutoring, as directed by the teacher. - Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) by addressing specific learning and developmental goals. - Monitor and manage student behavior in the classroom, playground, and other learning environments, ensuring compliance with safety and behavioral expectations. - Perform clerical tasks such as preparing instructional materials, maintaining attendance and progress records, and collecting and recording data on student performance. - Assist with mobility training and the use of public transportation, ensuring the safety of students in various settings.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: Proof of passage of the CBEST, or proof of an AA degree or higher from an accredited institution in the US; Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience working with children in an educational or organized setting. Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred. Fluency in Mandarin is desirable.
