The San Luis Coastal Unified School District is looking for new Physical Education Aides to join our team. PE Aides at SLCUSD assist a teacher with a variety of program support tasks relating to the school physical education program, and work with small and large groups of students. These are itinerant positions; the Aide works at the same sites as the PE Teacher, and will work at more than one site in the District (a typical day may start at one site and travel to another for a partial day). Current vacancies are for positions that are 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and may work between Elementary sites in San Luis Obispo, and/or Los Osos or Morro Bay. The District Application covering relevant knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience will be evaluated on a job-related basis. Applications passing with minimum qualifications and above will be contacted to attend the oral board interviews.
Oral Board Interviews for candidates who pass application screening will be held Friday, Ju10, 2026.
Those who score in the top three ranks from the oral boards will advance to the hiring interviews.
The date for Hiring Interviews is TBD.
WORK YEAR: 180 work days/year, school days only, plus 13 paid holidays. Start date is August 20, and is dependent upon Fingerprint and TB clearances, and completion of all pre-employment tasks.
SPECIAL NOTES: 1) Correctly filling out forms and following other instructions contained in this notice are part of the testing process. 2) Applicants with disabilities must notify the Personnel Office of any special needs so that adequate preparation may be made for their testing. 3) Veterans qualifying for the oral board examination may receive 5 additional points added to their final score if proof of discharge is submitted at time of oral board interview. A "veteran" as used here means any person who served in the United States armed forces or National Guard, in time of war, or national emergency. 4) Eligibility lists are established for a period of six months.
