A. General Description of Position Goals Under general supervision of Director of Transportation, develop, implement and maintain the bus driver training program; schedule and conduct in-service training for district employees ensure all physical and first aid certification for all Commercial drivers; conducts individual and group training programs for District employees in accordance with State, Federal laws and District policies and procedures

B. Essential Job Duties: 1. Coordinate, in-service training, classroom/ and behind-the-wheel instruction as needed in accordance with California State Department of education and District policies. 2. Schedule and provide school bus evacuation drills for students. 3. Ride school buses to evaluate the safety procedures of bus drivers and bus monitors. 4. May assist with dispatching procedures. 5. Prepare and maintain required records and reports as required (e.g. DMV pull notice, Physical form and random drug screening results). 6. May assist in driving a variety of District vehicles as necessary on a substitute or temporary basis. 7. Conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction for the District’s Bus Driver Trainee program. 8. Conducts driving performance evaluation to ensure driver’s proficiency. 9. Train other District employees whose classification requires a Class A, B or C license for the purposes of driving a District vehicle. 10. Attends training, workshops and meetings for the purpose of maintaining skills and ensuring compliance with district, local, state, and federal requirements. 11. Performs a variety of clerical duties and responsibilities as required. 12. Evaluate new and existing bus stops for safety. 13. Evaluate driving logs. 14. Maintain inventory of District transportation vehicle equipment (e.g. car seats, STAR seats, harness, etc.). 15. Perform related duties as assigned

Job Requirements/Qualifications 1. Experience: Five (5) years of school bus driver experience 2. Education: High School graduation or the equivalent 3. Licenses, Certifications: • Valid CA Driver’s License Class B or Higher • Passenger Endorsement • Air Brake Endorsement • Valid School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate issued by the Sate of CA/Department of Education • Valid School Bus Driver Certificate issued by the CA Highway Patrol • Valid medical examiner’s certificate • Current Red Cross Fist Aid Certificate acceptable to CA Highway Patrol • Incumbent will be required to participate in the random drug testing process • Successfully Pass District Test
