Job Summary – Instructional Assistant, Preschool Under the direction of the Preschool Teacher and site administrator, the Instructional Assistant – Preschool provides instructional, behavioral, and developmental support to preschool-aged children in a classroom setting. The position assists in implementing age-appropriate learning activities, supports children's social-emotional growth, promotes school readiness, and helps maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. The Instructional Assistant works with individual students and small groups to reinforce lessons and activities planned by the teacher, assists with classroom organization and preparation, monitors student behavior and safety, and supports students in developing communication, self-help, and interpersonal skills. The position may assist with toileting, hygiene, meal service, playground supervision, and transitions throughout the school day.
