The San Mateo Union High School District is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to support its Therapeutic Enrichment Program (TEC), a specialized program designed to support students who require ongoing therapeutic interventions to successfully access their education in both general and specialized instructional environments. Serving students in grades 9–12 who receive special education services, the TEC Program provides a supportive and therapeutic learning environment through a collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes an Education Specialist, Mental Health Therapist, and Paraprofessional. Together, team members work to support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth while fostering engagement, resilience, and success in school. As a TEC Mental Health Therapist, you will provide individual and group counseling, therapeutic classroom and milieu support, crisis intervention, consultation, care coordination, and collaboration with school staff and families as part of the student's school day. This unique role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students and provide seamless continuity of care across the classroom, school site, and district. As an embedded member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play an integral role in supporting students within a therapeutic educational environment and helping them develop the skills necessary for long-term success.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Cover Letter - Resume QUALIFICATIONS-Education/Training Experience: > Master’s Degree or higher in counseling, psychology, clinical social work, or a closely related field > At least one of the following: - Valid Marriage Family Therapist (MFT), or - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) > Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred.
