DEFINITION OF POSITION Under general supervision, the Student Administrative Software Support Technician will support school site and district personnel with the use of the district’s student administrative software as well as facilitate data entry, collection and reporting for various state and federal programs. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: - Common office computer software, such as email, databases, spreadsheets, word processors, desktop publishers - Familiarity with Windows and Macintosh operating systems - Correct English usage Ability to: - Make independent decisions while considering the local and system-wide impact of those decisions - Prioritize and identify needs and solve problems independently - Think logically to understand computer and software operating procedures and to troubleshoot problems - Exercise reasoning to skillfully handle difficult situations - Work independently and be self-directed - Plan, organize, schedule and perform technical duties in varied software systems - Plan, organize, schedule and oversee multiple projects - Compile, prepare, and analyze data - Meet important state and federal deadlines - Develop and provide training in use of software and collection and reporting of data - Check reports, records and other data for accuracy, completeness and compliance - Use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs - Compose correspondence independently and from general directions - Communicate orally and in writing and effectively and solve problems in an efficient and positive manner, both independently and as part of a team - Adapt easily to work assignments, additional priorities and new procedures - Receive constructive criticism and modify work appropriately - Maintain high level of professionalism in keeping the needs of customers a top priority - Type or keyboard at a speed not less than 60 words per minute accurately and neatly - Use a ten-key calculator
