Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, coordinate, support, and assist in the development and implementation of programs, services, training related to school safety, emergency preparedness, crisis response, student and staff wellness, and positive school climate. Collaborate with Imperial County Office of Education (ICOE) programs, school districts, charter schools, community partners, students, staff, and families to support safe, inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed learning and working environments.

Requirements / Qualifications

Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to fully perform the duties as described. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, public safety, nursing, fire science, emergency management, or a closely related field. Substitution: Candidates may be considered if they can demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of experience in either a fire, law enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, or behavioral health with with active involvement and increasing responsibility in emergency/disaster and safety program planning. Note: Education cannot be "traded" for missing years of experience. Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience and training in one or more of the following areas: school safety, emergency management processes, public health, behavioral health, nursing, disaster planning, and/or emergency management exercise design and training which would demonstrate ability to perform described duties and responsibilities.
