Job Summary

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the role of the Principal is to support student achievement through effective instructional, organizational, and administrative leadership. The Principal of the school will assume full responsibility for all aspects of a 9th through 12th grade school site; assist in the development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of the school site programs and procedures; serve as a member of Management and other duties as may be assigned. This position reports to the Superintendent.

Valid California Driver’s License • Minimum of Certificate of Eligibility for California Preliminary Administrative Credential • Minimum five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferred,3 of which at the Secondary level • M.A. /M.S. or higher from an accredited college or university in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Instruction or a closely-related field preferred. • English Learner (EL) Certification OR the commitment to obtain an EL Certification within two (2) years of hire date. • Knowledge of California curriculum for middle school/high school with an emphasis on STEM is preferred. • Knowledge of California public school education and charter school education in particular.

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy is a TK-12 grade charter school with 2,350 pupils that prepares graduates for college and careers in the 21st century. Our educational program emphasizes science, technology , engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills and views academics through the lens of aerospace. Our academy is located in the Antelope Valley, which has deep roots in aerospace.
