The Encinitas Union School District (EUSD) is seeking a dynamic STEM teacher to serve as a Farm Lab Program Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a unique opportunity to teach at EUSD’s 10-acre Farm Lab at the DREAMS Campus, an innovative learning environment where science, sustainability, and real-world problem solving come to life. EUSD’s Farm Lab is more than a garden—it is a living laboratory that advances environmental literacy, health and wellness, and climate-conscious practices. Through hands-on learning, the program empowers students to understand ecosystems, food systems, and their role as future stewards of the planet. Our work reduces the district’s environmental footprint, promotes sustainability, and serves as a model for school systems nationwide.
The Farm Lab Program Teacher will:
Design and deliver hands-on, inquiry-based STEM lessons for TK–6th grade students during site visits to the DREAMS Campus
Develop integrated learning experiences aligned to science, environmental literacy, and sustainability standards
Facilitate engaging experiences in areas such as gardening, ecology, climate science, and food systems
Maintain and care for raised garden beds and outdoor learning spaces, modeling sustainable practices
Collaborate with educators and serve as a demonstration teacher, showcasing best practices in outdoor and experiential learning
This role is ideal for an educator with a strong background in STEM, environmental science, outdoor education, or sustainability, who thrives in a hands-on teaching environment and is passionate about connecting students to meaningful, real-world learning. Compensation:
Salary placement is based on experience, with credit given for up to 10 years of prior teaching. In addition, This position is scheduled to transition to a 185-day work calendar and will be compensated on the certificated salary schedule beginning in the 2027–2028 school year, providing a clear pathway for professional growth and long-term alignment with certificated roles.
The Encinitas Union School District (EUSD) is located in North San Diego County along the coast. It serves nine(9) Kindergarten through sixth grade schools.

The weekly work schedule for this position is 7:30am-3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Successful candidates will be required to pass fingerprint background check, physical and drug screen and provide negative Tuberculin Skin Test result prior to working in Encinitas Union School District. TB test at applicant's expense. Fingerprinting/physical/drug screen paid by EUSD. An original Social Security Card is required at the time of hire.
