Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom, monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.

MUST BE ESSA COMPLIANT BY HAVING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: * Associate's degree or * Completion or a minimum of 48 units at an institution of higher education by attaching transcripts or * Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate: proof of passing a locally approved assessment that measures the ability to assist in instruction. * Examples include the CBEST, ParaPRO, or a District-administered NCLB/ESSA Paraprofessional proficiency exam. * Applicants who meet the minimum requirements but require a Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate will receive an email invitation to attend a testing session with SCOE. * ATTACH A COPY TO YOUR APPLICATION. *EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. Must be at least 18 years of age. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS: The following are not required at the time of application but will be required of the selected applicant prior to employment: Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance, TB clearance, and Required Trainings.
