Job Summary

Tulare City School District is now accepting applications for the position of Nutrition Services Cook I. This is an 8 hour per day, 185-day per year position, Monday through Friday. Under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager(s) (Kitchen Operations), will assist with various duties involved in preparing while using standardized recipes. Practice safe food handling while adhering to strict safety and sanitation procedures. Work closely with other Nutrition Services staff to ensure that meals meet nutritional standards, align with school policies, and cater to specific dietary needs. Maintain a production kitchen. Two years minimum experience in quantity food service preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent Valid ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent (California Health and Safety Code) food safety certification issue by an authorized agent (Ability to obtain within the first six months of employment and must maintain throughout the course of employment) Valid ServSafe Allergen Awareness Certification or equivalent (California Health and Safety Code) allergen awareness certification issued by an authorized agent (ability to obtain within the first six months of employment and must maintain throughout the course of employment); employment is contingent upon certification Valid California Driver’s license
