Hours per day: 2- 2 1/2 hrs Days per week : 5 days per week Effective start date : July 1st, 2026 Season date: Aug 14th 2026- May 31st, 2027 Position Overview: Madera High School is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to serve as the Head Coach of the Softball Program. The successful candidate will provide leadership, organization, and direction for all (3) levels of the softball program while promoting academic achievement, sportsmanship, character development, and competitive excellence. Specific Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To: Serve as the Head Coach of the Madera High School Softball Program. Develop a positive team and program culture while providing clear direction and vision for the program. Develop individual and team skill sets, techniques, and competition strategies necessary for overall program success. Create and communicate a program vision and strategic plan while providing instruction to student-athletes in the consistent execution of that vision. Plan and oversee all scheduled off-season workouts, in-season practices, competitions, and post-competition evaluations. Establish and supervise a comprehensive off-season strength training, conditioning, endurance, and agility program. Collaborate with MHS Athletic Administration in the selection, supervision, and evaluation of assistant coaches. Ensure all rules and regulations regarding student-athlete conduct, safety, academics, and eligibility are communicated and followed. Communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with student-athletes, parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, officials, opponents, alumni and community members. Maintain all required coaching certifications and district-mandated trainings. Complete all required paperwork, reports, inventories, transportation requests, and other documentation in a timely manner. Requirements / Qualifications

Previous Softball coaching experience required; head coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred. Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, player development, and competitive strategy. Knowledge of NFHS and CIF rules, regulations, and bylaws. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations and school personnel. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
