LYNWOOD HIGH SCHOOL 3:30- 6:30 PM (Monday & Wednesday) The Culinary Arts CTE instructor will be responsible to teach and train high school students in introductory culinary arts. Included in instruction are safety and sanitation, cooking and baking methods and techniques, advanced cooking and guest relations, international cuisine, identification of tools and ingredients, nutrition, menu development, food service math, and guest service. Integrated throughout are essential employability skills for entry-level culinary positions
Requirements / Qualifications
Appropriate CTE or Designated Subjects teaching credential or eligibility for appropriate credential. Candidates without a credential must have 3 years’ experience within the field. CalAPS will assist individuals in obtaining the preliminary credential provided the candidate can prove applicable proof of experience. Credential cost will be reimbursed by CalAPS. Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required. One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.
