MOUNTAIN VIEW-LOS ALTOS UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 1299 BRYANT AVENUE MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA 94040 CLASS TITLE: ASSESSMENT COORDINATOR BASIC FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of a high school administrator, perform a variety of responsible, complex clerical, organizational and coordinating functions in support of test administration at a school site; plans, organizes and is responsible for timely, accurate and complete administration of large group tests such as SAT, Advanced Placement, CAHSEE, PSAT, STAR and any other federal, state, local or private large group testing identified by site administration; recruitment, training and scheduling of staff or volunteers to ensure compliance with test administration requirements. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Perform a variety of responsible and complex technical duties; coordinate with site and district schedules and communications to ensure efficient, accurate and timely administration of large group testing for district students on site Explain policies and procedures related to testing within the scope of authority of this position; provide information to staff, vendors, students, parents and volunteers Order and coordinate delivery and return of test program materials and maintain mandated records related to testing events Direct preparation and organization of testing materials for distribution, collection and required accounting/security measures Secure, train and schedule necessary staff or volunteers to process materials and serve as test proctors where needed Prepare and process specialized forms, packets and information related to large group testing events Perform a wide variety of problem-solving tasks in support of large group testing events held at the sites Prepare and complete a wide variety of electronic files, labels, rosters, documents, records, manuals and reports related to testing events Operate a variety of office machines, including computer terminals and communication equipment Perform related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF: Modern office practices, procedures and equipment, including computer equipment and related software applications used by the District Record-keeping techniques Health and safety regulations Correct English usage, grammar and spelling, punctuation and vocabulary Oral and written communication skills Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, diligence and courtesy ABILITY TO: Define, perform, and coordinate organizational tasks necessary to successfully administer large group tests Work independently with little direction Perform problem-solving tasks requiring independent judgment Perform duties effectively with many demands on time and with constant interruptions Train and provide direction to others Maintain accurate records and prepare reports Work confidentially with discretion Keyboard accurately at a rate required for successful job performance Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Establish and meet schedules and timelines Understand and interpret rules and written directions and apply to specific situations Plan and organize work flow Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Operate office machines including computer equipment utilizing identified office productivity software EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school plus related college courses or practical experience in organizing large group events and implementing complex instructions preferably in an educational setting with at least two years of increasingly responsible office experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: • School office environment; subject to frequent interruptions • Work under pressure of deadlines and time constraints • May be required to work at a computer workstation for extended periods of time • May be required to attend meeting outside regular working hours • Ability to lift boxes of 15 to 20 pounds in weight Licenses and other requirements: • Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance • Evidence of TB clearance If required to operate a vehicle: • Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License • Acceptable driving record and qualification for insurability by the District’s insurance carrier HEARING, VISION, AND SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PROCESSING: Close proximity hearing and clarity of vision near and far with various distance focus/refocus ability are necessary for these tasks. This job requires a very articulate communicator as many of the tasks involve direct conversation with co-workers, staff members, and the public. The assessment coordinator must read and write with speed and accuracy. He/she must comprehend visual and auditory input given by others. Short and long term memory recall ability is required in all tasks. This person must be a tactful and efficient worker with all whom he/she comes in contact. .
