Job Summary

Twin Ridges Elementary School District is seeking a K-8 Special Education Resource Teacher. This position provides a unique opportunity to work in a small school environment. This job is full time (1.0 FTE) at 7 hours/day, 184 days/year. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Up to ten years of experience credited upon initial salary schedule placement. District contribution of $11,500 towards health & welfare benefits. 11 days PTO/ school year. Mild/Moderate or Mod/Severe special education credentials with the ability to apply for a bridge credential. Special Education/Resource Teacher (Special Education/ Intervention Teacher; attached job description to be updated) 1. Responsible for providing specialized academic instruction and related services to students who meet eligibility criteria for Special Education in grades (Tk-8). 2. Support classroom teachers with the implementation of evidence based intervention strategies and supports. Knowledge/Requirements: IEP process including; formal assessment, specialized academic instruction, case management, facilitating IEPs Consultation and collaboration with general education teacher, and other providers Effective classroom management Perform reasonable related duties as required.

The Resource Specialist is designed to provide services to students with learning disabilities, to provide programs and instruction, which promote cognitive, academic, communication, behavioral, social and physical development. Knowledge/Requirements: Assess and screens students, which have been referred by school staff and/or parents in accordance with, established screening provedures. Diagnoses students eligibility to receive appropriate services. Plans, administers, and interprets student evaluations. Meets with parents/guardians on a regular basis to review students progress. Provides training, direction and supervision for assigned ancillary staff. Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and or conveying information.

Requirements / Qualifications

Mild/Moderate or Mod/Severe special education credentials with the ability to apply for a bridge credential. District-sponsored Student Teacher Intern Permit (STIP) and/or Provisional Intern Permit (PIP) considered -- see intern document requirements below.
