This position is initially for the Extended School Year (ESY) program running from June 15, 2026 through July 14, 2026, with the possibility of continued employment for the 2026–2027 school year based on program needs, performance, and compliance with all employment and paraprofessional qualification requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Working with head teacher, Counselor, Speech Therapist, Social-Emotional Learning Specialist and/or Occupational Therapist for 1:1 delivery of special education plans and daily instruction
- Assisting the head teacher and others on the student’s team in preparing and presenting academic plan
- Provide behavioral support to student when needed
- Under direction of teachers and therapists, collect data as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2 years working with children (special education strongly preferred)
- Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and
- Experience in hands-on teaching delivery
Additional Qualifications / Compliance Requirements
All Instructional Aides hired at The Helix School must meet at least one of the following minimum paraprofessional qualifications:
- Hold an Associate’s degree (AA) or higher from an accredited institution
- Have completed at least 48 semester units of college coursework
- Pass an approved paraprofessional skills assessment
Candidates who do not currently meet one of the educational requirements above will be required to successfully complete the paraprofessional exam as a condition of continued employment.
