Job Summary
Job Summary
The 5th grade teacher is responsible for providing an engaging, faith-based learning environment that supports the spiritual and academic development of each student. He/She will plan and implement instruction aligned with archdiocesan and Common Core standards, integrate Catholic values throughout the curriculum, and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to further the development and success of all students. Responsibilities * Foster a positive, faith-centered classroom environment that supports social, emotional, and academic growth * Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Archdiocesan and Common Core standards * Incorporate Catholic teachings and Gospel values into daily instruction and classroom culture * Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other assigned duties * Maintain ongoing communication with parents to support spiritual and academic formation * Collaborate with faculty and administration in schoolwide programs, events, professional learning communities, and school liturgies
Requirements / Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (Master’s preferred) * California Teaching Credential (or progress in this area) preferred * Catechetical certification (or willingness to obtain through the Archdiocese) * Experience working with elementary students, especially primary grades * Practicing Catholic strongly preferred * Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education * Strong communication, classroom management, and instructional skills Preferred Skills * Adaptability and team-player mentality, especially toward new curriculum * Ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction Application Requirements Interested candidates should submit the following to Araceli Esparza, principal, at principal@saintanthonysg.com: * Cover letter expressing interest in the position * Current résumé * Contact information for 2–3 professional references * Copies of relevant certifications (if applicable)
