Requirements / Qualifications

Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade Ability: Drive a school bus and other transportation equipment safely and efficiently, exercising sound judgment and extreme caution; maintain proper and positive control of student behavior on a school bus; keep records and prepare reports; understand and follow oral and written directions; be courteous, neat, and clean at all times. Knowledge: Safe driving and defensive driving practices and techniques; California Motor Vehicle Code and Education Code applicable to the operation of school buses and pupil transportation; effective communication skills; pupil management skills. REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: MUST BE A CURRENT CALIFORNIA STATE CERTIFIED SCHOOL BUS DRIVER OR MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL BUS DRIVER’S TRAINING PROGRAM ** If you are not a current California State Certified School Bus Driver, please email salli_terrones@snowlineschools.com to inquire about taking the next School Bus Driver Original Training Program. Include your contact information: full name, phone number, and email address. MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING CURRENT CREDENTIALS AND ATTACH ALL CREDENTIALS TO YOUR APPLICATION: ** California Commercial Driver License – Class A or Class B (with P and S endorsements) ** California Special Driver Certificate – Valid for School Bus Operation. Must not have Restrictions 2, 3, 4, and 5. If Restriction 6 is indicated, one must attach First Aid/CPR card from an approved provider list. ** Medical Examiners Certificate – DOT Physical ** Driver Record (K4) DMV ** First Aid/CPR Certificate

Letters of recommendation written by relatives will not be accepted. Must have a current DL-51 medical certificate and possess a California Special Drivers Certificate. If you have previously been employed by a Local Educational Agency (LEA) or School District, all sections of the Mandatory Employment Disclosure (MED) must be completed.
