The Middle School Social Science Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, standards-based instruction in 7th and 8th grade social studies, fostering critical thinking, civic responsibility, historical inquiry, and cultural understanding. The teacher creates a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and academic growth while integrating project-based learning and real-world connections to historical and contemporary issues. This position serves approximately 15 students per class period, allowing for personalized instruction, meaningful student-teacher relationships, and differentiated support to meet individual learning needs. The teacher monitors student progress, communicates regularly with families, collaborates with colleagues, and contributes to the overall success of the school community. Knowledge of California History-Social Science Standards and a commitment to developing informed, responsible, and engaged citizens is essential.
