Requirements / Qualifications
BASIC FUNCTION: The Manager, Workers' Compensation will manage the operation of a team of examiners and technical staff for the Risk Management department; provide training, monitor individual claims activity, and provide technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication; and maintain a detailed diary on claims, including frequent diaries on complex or high exposure claims. POSITION SPECIFICS: Working Location: Risk Management. 6735 Gifford Way San Diego, CA 92111 Work schedule: Full-time, 12 months The position is paid on the AASD Classified Supervisors Salary Schedule, Supervisor Schedule II, Salary Plan 700, Grade 027. Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents Professional certifications as applicable to line of business preferred, but not required.
Education and Experience: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in risk management, business administration, public administration, or related field and five (5) years of claims management experience including three (3) years supervisory experience Licenses and Other Requirements: Self-Insurance Administrator’s license may be required.
